More than ten years ago, I stood on this stage at the first continuous lifecycle conference to talk about “Why Software is Eating the World”. Much of what we envisioned back then has come true: every industry has become software-driven, and developers and engineering teams sit at the core of business innovation. Some predictions, however, took unexpected turns.
Today, we are at the next inflection point: Artificial Intelligence, especially Generative AI, is reshaping the way we build, run, and scale software. Hundreds of billions are invested into this space - an unprecedented moonshot project.
In this keynote, I’ll look back at the lessons learned from the past decade and forward to the new paradigm AI brings for developers and platform engineering teams. We’ll explore how AI will transform coding, observability, automation, and the very nature of platform engineering, and what this means for the next generation of builders.
