The CLC conference

Better software—happier teams

Modern software development has long been more than just the sum of tools and processes. Cloud-native technologies, automation, and AI open up new possibilities—but at the same time, they present companies with the challenge of making complexity manageable and providing optimal support to development teams.

This is exactly where the CLC comes in: The focus is on platform engineering and developer experience as key levers for delivering software faster, more securely, and with sustainable quality. From infrastructure to CI/CD, testing, and observability to security and governance, the CLC examines the entire software lifecycle—in a practical, critical, and implementation-oriented manner.

Effectively designing platform engineering and developer experience

In many organizations, it is clear what needs to be achieved—but not always how. Setting up internal developer platforms, introducing standardized pipelines, or using GenAI in the delivery process requires more than just good tools: it calls for clear architectures, viable organizational models, and a deep understanding of developers' needs.

The CLC shows how platform engineering is conceived and implemented as a product—and how a compelling developer experience is created that increases productivity, quality, and satisfaction in equal measure. This is not about idealized images, but about real experiences: What works? Where are the typical pitfalls? And how can existing platforms be further developed in a targeted manner?

CLC stands for in-depth expertise and honest practical reports

For over a decade, CLC has been the meeting place for everyone actively involved in software delivery: developers, platform engineers, architects, DevOps and SRE teams, and technical decision-makers.

Experienced experts provide guidance on current topics, technologies, and trends—and critically evaluate them. You will receive concrete decision-making criteria, learn from projects in a wide range of industries, and gain inspiration that you can directly apply in your everyday work.

Topics covered include:

  • Platform engineering as an organizational and architectural approach
  • Developer experience as a measurable success factor
  • Continuous & Progressive Delivery, GitOps and Infrastructure as Code
  • Observability, Security and Compliance for platforms
  • GenAI, AIOps and Automation across all delivery pipelines

The CLC deliberately offers new perspectives and in-depth content: current developments, changing best practices, and experience from the next stage of maturity of modern platforms.

Exchange on equal terms – learning from and with the community

What makes the CLC special is the lively exchange of ideas. Here you will meet like-minded people who are overcoming similar challenges—and are willing to openly share their experiences. Whether in sessions, breaks, or discussion rounds, networking is not an afterthought, but an integral part of the conference.

During the workshop days, you will also have the opportunity to explore selected topics in depth and hands-on—either on-site or online. This is an ideal opportunity to try out new things, question existing approaches, and take away concrete solutions.

Double Chevron

What does CLC mean here?
The CLC was born in 2013 under the name “Continuous Lifecycle.” In 2016, its sister conference ‘ContainerConf’ was added. Because this led to a rather cumbersome double name, people increasingly referred to it as “the CLC.” This is how the official name of our event came about.
